Dims what you have already opened, picked up, killed or read, and shows the story state of your game. Your saves are in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\QueensDomain\Saved\SaveGames\<number>\
(paste that into the Explorer address bar). World0.sav is your last rest at a save point; World0_Suspend_0.sav and World0_Suspend_1.sav are newer autosaves. Pick all three and the newest is used. You can also drop the files onto the map.
The file is read here in your browser and never uploaded anywhere. Only the list of what is done is kept in this browser, so every map page uses it until you click forget. Load it again after playing.
